POSITION SUMMARY

We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. We currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow®, Cat Chow®, Kit n Kaboodle®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE Beyond®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan® .

In a typical 24-hour production cycle, we conduct 30,000 documented quality checks involving ingredient/packaging, receiving, processing, and packing. That’s how much we care. As Quality Assurance Technician (Product Safety), you will support and assist with managing food safety programs. You will perform pest control measures and create, maintain and enforce sanitation standards throughout the factory. In this role, you will conduct routine audits of the facility and outside storage facilities. You will also monitor and investigate physical, chemical and biological food safety hazards and implement appropriate controls.

  • Perform integrated pest management program in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Develop, coordinate and administer the factory sanitation program to ensure that all products are manufactured in compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP).

  • Manage chemical supplies and sanitation services including waste removal, custodians, shipping yard and grounds.

  • Maintain and enhance foreign material policies and associated inspections, investigations and tracking.

  • Provide support and guidance to all departments regarding food safety issues and assist supervisor with training and development of factory personnel.

  • Work cross-functionally with production, packing, maintenance and safety teams to ensure a continuous flow of quality and efficiency throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 1+ year working in quality assurance, food safety, pest control or sanitation in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment

Other

  • Experience with Integrate Pest Management preferred

  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices and Master Sanitation Plans preferred

  • Food safety experience within manufacturing preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $51,100 – $62,129. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
