The Quality Assurance Inspector needs to be able to work under limited supervision performing diversified bench or floor inspection of a variety of standard or custom parts, products or materials that are being produced in house or received from vendors. Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices. Checks color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density or other measurable or observable characteristics of material. Performs detailed first article inspections following the installation of new or revised molds and dies. May recommend, write or modify sampling and inspection procedures. May use statistical tools to chart variance. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Responsibilities

 Inspects and tests and incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and

measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.

 Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications conducting visual and measurement

tests, communicating required adjustments when necessary.

 Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests,

returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.

 Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and

inputs data into quality database.

 Participates in the review and disposition of non-conforming material.

 Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration

requirements, and calling for repairs.

 Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and

complying with legal regulations.

 Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical

publications.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 8 hours at one time

• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
