Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.Job Description Navy ELMR is geographically the largest, most complex ASTRO system in the world. The SUA PM will have primary responsibility, through a team of dedicated engineers and technicians, to develop and execute a technical deployment plan for Navy ELMR SUAs.

The PM is responsible for managing the SUA budget and developing technicians' roles and tasks to ensure a successful migration of these critical, high-visibility projects. Navy ELMR SUAs are particularly challenging due to customization's deployed throughout the enterprise creating a need for customized testing in a lab environment. As such, the SUA PM will own the relationship with Upgrade Operations and third-party vendors to develop and execute strategies and test plans to ensure a flawless production deployment performance.

Responsibilities:

This role requires a US DoD Secret level clearance. Only those willing to possess shall apply.

This is a customer-facing role

Extensive verbal and written communication with stakeholders, technicians and engineers throughout the project life cycle

Present plans, answer questions and provide regular updates to the customer

This is a dynamic environment so constant adaptation to a changing landscape is required

Identify issues that may interfere with quality, cost or time-frame and recommend options to manage impact

Promote and foster a healthy culture and environment in managing resources to maximize throughput and retention

Assess the business and organizational implications of various strategies and present those to management

Travel for in-person design review meetings at which the PM will host and drive the meetings

Travel during critical components of the upgrade plan where on-site, real-time decision making and customer management is required.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of telecom environments, Motorola Radio systems and equipment a plus

Must understand technology well enough to moderate technical discussions and make technical decisions based on those discussions

Experience defining business and technical requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple concurrent responsibilities of varying priorities and shift focus from one to another with minimal loss of productivity or work qualityBasic Requirements

Bachelors degree and 5 years experience or 7 years in technical project/program management in a related field. Legal authorization to work in the U S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
