Nexstar Media Group MCO Shift Lead in Denver, Colorado

Nexstar Media Group, Inc, has an opening for a Shift Lead Master Control to work in our Denver, CO, broadcast operations center. The Shift Lead Master Control is responsible for facilitating the on-air operations of a 56-channel broadcast master control hub. The shift lead preforms a variety of tasks related to the successful execution of on-air transmission via a broadcast automation system.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support the successful execution of on-air programming, including Live Sports, network programming, Live Local News, and syndication. Oversee successful commercial insertion during all programming.

  • Delegate tasks to Master Control Operators on an as needed basis.

  • Verify the completion of FCC legal documents including but not limited to transmitter logs and discrepancy reports.

  • Escalate on-air issues to Hub Management

  • Work as a liaison between local stations, traffic, and programming. Maintain professional communication when working with outside parties.

  • Tier 1 troubleshooting of technical issues including restarting applications and rebooting computers. Escalate technical issues to Hub Management and engineering.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for operational workflows.

  • Complete all duties of a Master Control Operator as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Technical degree recommended, but not required. Minimum High School diploma or GED Minimum 2 years in a Television Master Control environment Available for all shifts 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am Professional written and verbal communication Experience with Microsoft Outlook Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment Experience with Florical Automation Systems is a plus.

This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Hourly rate is $22.00/hour. Other benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K match.
