The Role

Warehouse Lead will participate and oversee the shipping, receiving, storing, and issuing of product, inventory control, and can prepare related reports. Serve as a lead over one or more assigned warehouse functions; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff. Must enjoy working with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting. Warehouse lead could assume the responsibilities of Warehouse Superintendent when they are out of the facility.

Job Functions

  • Safely operate a forklift.

  • Loading and Unloading Material (flatbed trailers, 53’ vans and rail cars) from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions.

  • Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based off pick documents and bills of lading

  • Processes Material Movement Transactions in SAP with a very high level of accuracy (Transfer Orders, Scrap and Bin to Bin Movements)

  • Cycle count inventory weekly or as required

  • Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.

  • Processes Customer Shipments using the outbound process flow in SAP that will ensure optimal location loading, efficient manpower usage and accurate inventory transactions.

  • Receives Incoming Finished Goods and Raw Materials and verifies accuracy using SAP system.

  • Processes Miscellaneous paperwork & logs data

  • Provides general Customer Service to Customers and Transportation providers

  • Works with Inventory System to create reports and analytical information required to resolve issues with Orders and Inventory.

  • Ability to safely lift, carry and stack up to 55lb. bundles of roofing shingles/rolls.

  • General housekeeping and all other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Education

  • 2 Years Warehouse / Supply Chain Experience

  • 2 Years Forklift Operating Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Warehouse/Shipping policies, procedures, operations and general transportation processes. Ability to fill in for Current Whs. Manager as needed.

  • Attention to detail and proficiency with internal computer systems including SAP and Microsoft Office.

  • Good oral communication skills

  • Strong Team Leadership skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Able to support disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crisis.

  • Ability to translate data into useful information.

  • Excellent Attendance Practices Required

  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs and positive demeanor.

Pay Transparency

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is $28 per hour. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 21% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
