This position will have remote and hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business need.

This position will be hybrid and required to work in the office at least 1 day per month.

The Office of the Future of Work (OFW) works to understand, prepare for, and develop effective policy and programmatic solutions to support Coloradans in today and tomorrow’s changing economy. As part of this work, OFW oversees two critical initiatives: the State Apprenticeship Agency (referred to as Apprenticeship Colorado) and the Digital Equity Literacy and Inclusion Initiative. The SAA promotes and supports Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) in Colorado, has total functional responsibility over statewide operation,

procedures, and activities as they relate to RAPs. The OFW administers USDOL-funded apprenticeship expansion grants to increase career and education pathways for jobseekers and students to high-wage careers, with an emphasis on historically excluded populations. The Digital Equity, Literacy and Inclusion Initiative which works across state agencies and community partners to close the digital divide through the implementation of the state’s digital access plan and a statewide Digital Navigator Program. The OFW is also responsible for raising awareness of the future of work trends through regular presentations, articles, and research projects.

The position of Grant Coordinator III in the Office of the Future of Work will provide quality grant coordination over both state and federal grants as assigned. The Grant Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of grants received and awarded by the Office of the Future of Work at CDLE. This position serves as a resource and subject matter expert on grant coordination activities. As a grant generalist, the position is primarily tasked with grant outcome and expenditure tracking and reconciliation, quarterly reporting, grant provision, and grantee technical assistance. This position will help coordinate and administer federal State Apprenticeship Expansion Grants from USDOL and any additional funding received under the State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) grant in future fiscal years.. In addition, this position will help coordinate and support federal Digital Equity Capacity Grant funds and funds resulting from interagency agreements and legislative activities received by the Office of the Future of Work.

The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for supporting grantmaking from federal and state sources on behalf of the Office of the Future of Work and managing grantee performance and technical assistance. The Grant Coordinator works very closely with the members of the Apprenticeship Colorado and Digital Equity teams to collaborate on joint projects and assignments as it relates to grant implementation. The position also regularly works with state and local agencies, industry associations, employers, workforce centers and community-based organizations as part of the work of the Office of the Future of Work.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with federal grants and/or grants management and administration.

  • Experience issuing grants to third-party entities through a competitive grant-making process.

  • Experience with government procurement and/or contracting, preferably with state government.

  • Experience successfully managing a project with several initiatives in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience monitoring and executing the spend down of a large budget within a specified time-frame.
