This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

Join our pioneering team of engineers and technicians in the Space System Development (SSD) business unit. You will be involved in designing flight software for future space systems, operating in both orbital and deep space environments. As part of a small and passionate team, you will contribute to developing fault-tolerant flight software that controls a cutting-edge space system, providing innovative space station services for Blue Origin Orbital Reef and NASA Commercial Destination Free Flyer (CDFF) program. Your work will involve defining architectures, collaborating with multi-functional teams, and ensuring development and verification. Responsibilities: Develop subsystem management and Control application flight software for autonomous and commanded operations Support the design and development of flight software functional architecture for orbital space system Collaborate with multi-functional collaborators to define software concepts of operations, functions, and requirements. Author unit tests, documentation, and participate in design and code reviews Integrate subsystem management and Control applications with vehicle management applications Develop and run unit tests, validate on cross-platform software testbed Hardware-in-the-Loop and simulator environment Participate in design and code reviews, and status reporting Present flight software designs for subsystem management at design and achievement reviews Implement a flight software demonstration to highlight breakthroughs for partners and customers. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, computing robotics, or closely related field. 4+ years of relevant experience Demonstrated Software development skills in real-time embedded systems, particularly in C/C++ Breadth and depth of understanding of real-time embedded software development concepts Experience in build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, deployment of software.
