NGL Energy Partners LP Engineering Intern in Denver, Colorado

Job Description

This position is a summer internship that will run from mid-May through beginning to mid-August 2025.

The Engineering Intern will provide support for Engineering and Operations roles in the Water Solutions business unit during the course of the internship. The position will consist of analyzing, planning, specifying, developing, procuring, maintaining and enhancing the various systems, procedures and processes within the Water Solutions business unit. The position will work with command center operations, SWD field operations, and engineering on improving the overall efficiency and efficacy of the Water Solutions business unit.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and document system equipment failures to perform root cause/failure analyses.

  • Analyze and report on system efficiency gains and losses, the effects of system interventions and modifications, and identify future optimization opportunities for reducing costs and enhancing system throughput.

  • Assist with troubleshooting system power-related issues, identifying problem areas and providing technical solutions to reduce costs and improve system reliability. Evaluate and inventory NGL’s current electrical infrastructure.

  • Use technical expertise and creativity to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems that increase value delivered to NGL Energy operations and customers.

  • Provide engineering and technical support to Operations Staff, ensuring applications and integrated systems work as expected.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and business acumen.

  • Skills in analysis and project management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.

  • Ability to always work with respect and cooperation with fellow employees and customers.

  • Must be committed to always working safely.

Experience/Education Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent at a minimum.

  • Currently pursuing a college degree in mechanical/chemical/petroleum/electrical or computer engineering.

  • Exposure to the Oil and Gas industry preferred.

  • Requires a valid driver’s license.

Travel Required

A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $20.00 - $28.00
