Job Title: ELA-S Elementary Senior Team Lead Teacher

Location: 1860 Lincoln Street, Denver, CO 80203

Minimum Salary: $56,141 with standard benefits.

Duties:

Follow DPS curriculum to instruct students. The following job duties will be performed at the elementary level: Provide instruction to linguistically diverse students in English and Spanish. Teach appropriate grade level standards-based curriculum in reading, writing, math, science, social studies and personal development. Follow DPS literacy program and/or other school/district approved curriculum. Provide direct instruction to small groups of students at the strategic level of intervention in order to supplement core instruction Demonstrate familiarity and adherence to the district's mission and goals. Administer the language assessment scale (las) test to English language learners. Complete, maintain, and submit accurate records, forms and reports punctually, as required. Coordinate activities with the classroom paraprofessional, including daily planning and evaluation of student's needs and progress. Work with diverse student population and staff. Providing high-quality instruction in their own classroom as a teacher, and part of the day developing a team of teachers ability to deliver joyful, rigorous and personalized instruction that leads to high academic achievement. Conduct required parent-teacher meetings. Direct instruction to small groups of students at the strategic level of intervention in order to supplement core instruction. Assist in screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring assessments. Assist in analyzing student data to determine student profile of needs, and for making instructional placement and instructional focus decisions. Serves as a member of the instructional leadership team, playing a critical role in helping school reach their student achievement goals. Speaking Spanish is inherent to the position.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages, Education, or related. Must possess a valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement in Elementary Education (K-6), Spanish (K-12) or ability to obtain. Ability to speak, read, and write both in English and Spanish.
