HOW YOU WILL SOAR:

The Director, Software Engineering will report to the Vice President, Service Development and Delivery. This role is responsible for managing and supporting the people, projects, resources, applications, development and delivery related to the effective implementation of application solutions spanning the 1031 Like-Kind Exchange marketplace.

This role will serve as the primary liaison between Technology and its client base by being the advocate to ensure that the provided services are at an exceptional standard. In addition, the role will be responsible for the identification and analysis (i.e. solutions alignment, cost justification/ROI, approvals and initial staffing/ resource requirements) of any business opportunities which require or could leverage Technology integration or development. Proven ability to build and maintain an Agile team and process to produce repeatable, predictable results while remaining nimble enough to react to quickly shifting business dynamics. Manage the development team, a single scrum team with a flat structure. Sustain knowledge and experience in Technology delivery to the supported business areas. Align, formulate, validate, link, and implement 1-3-year plan for area of responsibility with total Technology and business vision. Primary oversight and management of projects related to development initiatives. Directly manage multiple concurrent projects, both simple and extremely complex Ensure that the relevant governance and control processes are invoked and reflected for projects. Define and establish benchmarks and quality measures for area of responsibility. Provide regular reporting on those benchmarks and other metrics relative to team performance and other requested areas to senior business leadership in terms that are both understandable and actionable in business terms. Participate in disaster recovery and contingency planning including ongoing SOC2, Type 2 compliance Ensure that Information Security Technology controls and processes are followed, architected, and tested throughout the entire lifecycle of development. Effectively manage relevant 3rd party vendor relationships, while demonstrating excellent vendor management skills Ability to use and manage offshore development and QA resources as needed. Focus on the implementation of cost-effective, extensible, and supportable solutions (whether 3rd party or bespoke) Improve the stability and resi iency of all relevant production processes, as well as, instituting a robust support model addressing process/application failures. Provide mentorship to the entire organization in application development and integration, ensuring that the material is properly tailored to the context of the recipient audience. Provide direct management, mentoring, and career development of development team members. Foster an environment of transparency and clear communication on ongoing and future proposed development efforts and timelines. Institute a strong culture of collaboration, responsibility, learning and mentorship. Work with internal sales and internal and external clients to assess scalable process and data integration solutions. Be an exceptional liaison with the business on potential initiatives and solution patterns. Provide the business clear, business-focused communication on value, impediments, ROI, and other considerations when proposing new development initiatives or changes to backlog priorities. Work closely with the Product team to ensure constant alignment between technology and business. Deliver presentations to internal staff and external 3rd parties. Develop development and technology budgets to align with strategic and business goals.
