About The Work Unit:
The Office of Operations provides support for the business operations of CDPHE, including oversight of department-wide and business-focused technology functions, occupancy of leased space, budget and financial operations, and legal and regulatory compliance.
What You Will Be Doing:
The purpose of this position is to plan, direct, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of multiple data modernization projects as prioritized within the Public Health Infrastructure Grant’s (PHIG’s) Data Modernization Initiative (DMI).
The position is the project leader for and responsible for developing and overseeing implementation project plans that reflect data modernization goals and budgetary requirements, engaging and reflecting relevant staff, stakeholders and contractors throughout projects, routinely assessing and monitoring project risks and coordinating mitigation plans in response to project risks, and ensuring state and federal processes and requirements are met including but not limited to those set by CDPHE, the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
These projects support CDPHE-wide implementation of shared data services, onboarding individual public health programs to use shared data services, and modernization of data processes and systems within individual public health programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An applicant may meet the minimum qualifications for this job in one of two ways: They may qualify through their work experience alone or through a combination of education and work experience.
Experience Only:
Seven (7) years of relevant experience managing data, technology, or public health projects
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education ( public health, public administration, business administration, project management, information systems) and/or relevant experience in managing data, technology, or public health projects equal to seven (7) years
This experience must be substantiated within the work history section of the application. The words, "See Resume" will not be accepted. Part-time work will be pro- rated.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience successfully managing multiple projects within an data, technology, or product portfolio at the same time
Experience using shared tools such as Monday.com, Asana, Trello or Azure DevOps to manage projects
Experience with managing projects where modern software delivery practices such as agile and human-centered design are employed
Experience within a project or program team tasked with modernizing data collection and exchange practices
Experience in public health or health care administration
Experience within the public sector, ideally within a Colorado state agency
Experience successfully conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences to move projects forward
