POSITION SUMMARY:

In addition to its 300 days of annual sunshine, breathtaking scenery, and reputation for some of the country's best brews, Denver ranks among the top 10 in Forbes’ 'Best cities for dogs 2024' list. We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. We currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow®, Cat Chow®, Kit n Kaboodle®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE Beyond®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®.

As a Controls Engineer, you are responsible for providing controls engineering leadership and support to the manufacturing, engineering and maintenance teams. You will troubleshoot and drive continuous improvement efforts on automated manufacturing processes and equipment. In this role, you will work directly with the Plant Controls Group, specifically with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA data acquisition and instrument calibrations. You will design and approve electrical installations in accordance with proper codes and standards and provide technical oversight to ensure reliability and performance of electrical power distribution systems for the site.

• Provide PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support for the factory.

• Assist in scope development, requirements and objectives for electrical and controls projects.

• Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades.

• Develop and maintain the long-term electrical and controls infrastructure plan for the factory.

• Maintain current and complete electrical and controls as-built documentation.

• Assist in maintenance staff training and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• 3+ years’ experience working with controls systems in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment.

OR

• Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• 5+ years’ experience working with controls systems in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment.

The approximate pay for this position is $84,000 - $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
