Description of Job
Job Summary:OurDistribution Servicesdepartment circulates purchase order goods, mail parcels and supplies to end users in a timely basis while maintaining computer records for receiving and delivery. This work unit also provides information to the appropriate department for all goods that require tracking through Central Receiving.
Essential Job Functions:
Sort U.S. mail, packages, and intercampus mail for 4 separate institutions.
Bundle and deliver mail to assigned areas within the allotted time.
Pick up any outgoing mail or packages from customer(s).
Operating electronic postage machines, scales, and computers to process outgoing mail and packages.
Use appropriate codes and correct postage for selected mail class chosen.
Process FedEx, USPS, and Presort mail in the allotted time for daily pick up or delivery.
Audit tracking information for all accountable mail, as entered by the Campus Mail Services staff, assuring correct book and email tracking information is recorded and tracked.
Safely operate AHEC's vehicles on roads and con campus. Initial department contact, responsible for resolving customer disputes and addressing customer claims.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience which includes mail, package and equipment delivery, receiving or storing, including large and heavy items requiring use of carts, pallet jacks and other loading dock equipment.
Valid and unencumbered driver license.
Conditions of Employment:
Must maintain a valid and unencumbered Colorado driver license.
The position requires ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds
Must maintain their ability to stand for long periods of time as well as kneel, stoop, crouch, reach and grab in the performance of job-related duties.
Must be willing and able to physically maneuver and manipulate various hand tools (hand trucks, snips and banding tools) used in the performance of job-related duties.
They must also maintain their ability to independently travel in the performance of job-related duties.
Must be willing and able to perform work duties while exposed to extremes in weather elements (i.e. snow in the winter, heat in the summer).
Willingness to adhere to all safety guidance material to include those regulating the handling and storage as well as movement of toxic substances such as chemicals and other materials.
Please note that if offered employment, candidates will be required to furnish a copy of themotor vehicle report (MVR)as part of the background check process.
