PCL Construction Services, Inc. Assistant Superintendent in Denver, Colorado
Job Description: Plan, direct, or coordinate activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Includes managers in specialized construction fields, such as carpentry or plumbing. Assists field management in all field operations to construct the project. Oversees on-site construction activities and ensures project plans and schedule are followed and that the project is executed effectively, safely, and within budget. Coordinates multiple scopes of a construction project, including scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating self-perform work and trade contractors with three-week look ahead schedules. Advises site superintendent or project manager of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties. Contributes to the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and assists with resource-loaded three-week look ahead schedules. Implements safety program and maintains safety and recordkeeping requirements. Job position located at various unanticipated locations throughout the United States. Position will report to HQ in Denver, CO.
Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures; Scheduling software such as Primavera P6; Project schedules and ability to identify the critical path; Productivity rates or own forces work (OFW) and Labor Cost Reports (LCRs); Interpreting cost reports; Safety and environmental principles; and Safety and environmental policies, procedures, and legislation for the construction industry.
