Department Summary
The Department of Computer Science (CS) at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver is currently accepting applications for adjunct instructors for online and in-person courses. The Ritchie School and the Department of Computer Science is building an academically and culturally diverse faculty and staff with a strong commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. Position Summary
Adjunct faculty in the Data Science graduate program are subject matter experts in their field and integrate professionally relevant, diverse examples into their teaching and discussions. They meet the following expectations:
Prepare and facilitate course lectures and inclusive learning online or in-person. Maintain weekly office hours and consistent presence in assigned course(s). Model and promote critical thinking as well as skill development. Provide specific, relevant, timely feedback and grading. Model and uphold academic standards and practices.
Required Qualifications
MS. Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or professional relevant experience. Content knowledge of assigned courses
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching a the University level to undergraduate or graduate students Experience mentoring students Experience working with the required programming languages for relevant courses Experience supporting justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in education and/or other professional setting
Work Schedule
Work schedule will depend on the courses taught.
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Course Rate
The course rate for this position is $5,949 per course on a 10-week term.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status
