Description of Job

The Work Unit:

The Fiscal Services Section provides accounting, budgeting, budget submission, policy, and grant management services; contract writing and management; accounts receivable billing; supplies and equipment procurement; personnel administration; and professional, technical, and administrative support services to internal and external customers for the Water Quality Control Division (WQCD).

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide budget, accounting and other financial information by analyzing, estimating, tracking and reporting division revenue and billing

  • Complete all AR related requests , maintain AR chart of accounts, serve as primary POC for collections inquiries

  • Support the FSU manager and/or Team Lead with all the Accounts Receivable needs of the Water Division

  • Create all receivable documents in CORE, including all annual billings and any weekly modifications and new billings as needed

  • Gather all invoices for 2nd, 3rd and final notices to customers, send the invoices to IDS for printing and mailing

  • Answer Accounts Receivable questions from customers, program staff, and Central Accounting by monitoring the central Billing lnbox

  • Reconcile the Water billing source system to CORE on a monthly basis

  • Collect invoice payment checks that are sent directly to the Water Division and send them to Central Accounting

  • Assist Central Accounting by researching billing records that are over 120 days for Collections

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

There are two ways you can qualify for this position:

Three years of technical accounting experience or basic bookkeeping experience.(Minimum Qualifications)

OR

Three (3) years of college or university education which included eighteen (12) semester credit hours of accounting can substitute for up to two years of the required experience.(Substitution)

This experience must be substantiated within the Work Experience section of your application. "See Resume" will not be accepted. In addition, part-time work will be prorated. A copy of your transcript must be submitted at the time of application if substituting education for experience (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.)
