Electrical 10+ years and ready for your next step?

We are looking for engineers who have worked for at least 10 years and are ready for the next step. The Siemens datacenter group realizes the power solution for international Datacenter projects. The systems that are used for this are MV switchgears, LV switchgears, Busbar systems and these can be installed on site or be built in prefabricated modular substations. Quality is key throughout all of the projects and together we help our clients to build datacenters.

We are a fast growing department with a diverse team consisting of engineers with backgrounds from all over the world. As an engineer you will work with lead engineering on the technical design, consult with other engineers on improvements and technical solutions, with the factories for the fabrication of the equipment. During factory testing you will travel to the Siemens factories or external companies around the world. and during commissioning you will guide the site team with support from the home office. The emphasis is on hardware engineering, but it contains sometimes software issues.

You have a general knowledge of LV, MV, Transformers and the construction procedures. In your current job you are used to talking to high demanding clients and now you are ready to pursue a career in The international market of Datacenters

Day to day tasks:

• Engineering work in the office/home such as: Designing electrical distribution systems and coordinating interfaces with our customers.

• Checking technical designs;

• Picking up technical issues (investigate & advise on layouts, components, cabling selection, termination kits, earthing & grounding, etc);

• Writing assembly and commissioning plans;

• (FAT/FWT) Attend and support test work on site and in our factories.

• Plan and oversee the progress of factory operations and resolve technical remaining issues;

• Place orders and learn to estimate commercial impact for additional work performed;

• Collaborate with an experienced lead engineer;

• Align improvements with the department

• Guide junior engineers

What do you need to be considered for this position?

• Completed Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent; (5+ years of experience)

• (Experience is more important, if someone has a MBO4+ degree with the right experience)

• Flexible working attitude, practical and results-oriented;-

• Communicative, committed, stress resistant and able to act within a dynamic environment;-

• Willing to do short work on location at home and abroad (15% on location);-

• Knowledge of the English and Dutch language- Living in The Hague region and in possession of EU passport;-

• Driving license is mandatory,

• Working week of 40 hours;- In consultation 50% working from home is possible.
