Delta Health Carpenter/Clinic Maintenance Worker in Delta, Colorado

POSITION: Carpenter/Clinic Maintenance Worker

DUTIES: Observes and actively participates in the safety lockout procedure. Selects the most appropriate tool for the job and maintains all tools in proper and safe condition. Uses all tools properly, keeping in mind safety to self and others. Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned and insures that this equipment functions as specified by the manufacturers. Monitors and assists in the installation of all equipment installed in this facility by others such as vendors and contractors. Completes carpentry and painting repairs as required. Completes or assists others with maintenance functions such as electrical, carpentry or plumbing repairs. Recognizes situations when more advanced technical assistance is needed and seeks this assistance. Prioritizes work orders, so that the greatest patient care needs are met first, followed by preventative maintenance, then routine or low priority work. Completes work orders in a timely fashion, based on priority. May be required to be on call. May be required to work other shifts as needed. Within one year of employment, the employee will take the DOT HazMat training to satisfy DOT CFR 172.704, the certification must then be renewed every three years.

REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have and maintain a valid Colorado License. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes for on call duties. Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools. Should follow oral or written instructions. Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Must adapt readily to change; be flexible; ability to problem solve; must be able to work required schedule including call.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Considerable walking, long periods of standing, climbing, stooping, and kneeling. Must be able to work in elevated positions from ladder, scaffold and rooftop, as well as man holes. Working conditions vary from extreme cold to extreme heat and close quarters. Must have full manual dexterity to handle and operate all types of tools safely and effectively. Must be able to read, write and speak English to work with blue prints, schematics and staff. Lifting of heavy objects is required to handle equipment. Varied shifts may also be required as well as varied light conditions. Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds.

WAGE: $21.56 - $31.16 / Hour

SHIFTS: Full-time 40 hours per week
