Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) has an immediate opening for a motivated Maintenance Greaser to work in our world-class processing facility. The ideal candidate will be a team-player with a positive attitude, capable of performing equipment lubrication as well as identify when mechanical repairs are needed while performing job duties to support our Maintenance Team.

This Full-Time opportunity works for 8-10 hours a day, including some overtime. Shift hours for this position vary based on the team assigned.

This Maintenance Greaser position earns a competitive pay of $ 21.17 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Oil and lubricate gearboxes, chains, bearings, etc. on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Drain and refill gearboxes
  • Identify potential bearings, suspicious gearboxes, and report to Supervisor.
  • Follow PM assignments using tablets.
  • Create CM work orders using tablets.
  • Perform work safely at all times, following all safety policies, GMP's and procedures.
  • Maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Notify Supervisor if additional materials are needed for lubricating equipment.
  • Know and understand SQF policy and ensure all labels and bottles have chemical ID labels on them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Leadership Team.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED; some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Able to successfully pass IPC's internal mechanical maintenance test
  • Understand principles of machinery lubrication and machinery operations.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as grease gun, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines and possess reasonable trouble shooting abilities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments
  • Prompt and regular attendance required for the job.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required - team player.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work well independently.

Safety Responsibilities

The candidate will be able to work and perform tasks in confined spaces and be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for the duration of the shift. They must also be able to perform lockout / tag out procedures on equipment once trained and always work safely in and around equipment.
