We are looking for an experienced and driven Digital Product Developer to lead the development of advanced digital tools that support our science and research laboratories. The ideal candidate will be experienced in building interconnected systems that play seamlessly with lab equipment and data infrastructure, integrating AI/ML models, enabling closed-loop experimentation and driving automation. This role will be key for accelerating research across an exciting range of scientific disciplines in chemistry, biotech, physics and life sciences.

Technical Responsibilities
Digital Product Leadership: Drive the full lifecycle of digital product development, focusing on creating tools that support scientific discovery and research, ensuring that these tools can connect and function seamlessly together when needed;
Closed-Loop AI-Augmented Experimentation & Lab Integration: Lead efforts to develop digital tools that leverage AI/ML models for automated, robotic, self-driving and closed-loop experimental processes;
Technology Stack: Continuously evaluate and work with internal and external partners to improve the data science technology stack, ensuring continuity and competitiveness over time;
Translator/Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with research scientists, engineers, and end teams to ensure expert-informed design and seamless integration of digital tools with lab workflows and company data backbone. Collaborate with users across disciplines to improve tool functionality;
Product Strategic Vision & Roadmap: Develop and communicate a product strategy and roadmap focused on advancing the company's vision of interconnected, AI-enabled research tools. Ensure the product vision aligns with the needs of researchers and business stakeholders.
Project Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead a team with about 6-8 internal and external data engineers and software developers and coordinate daily activities;
Project coordination: Maintain relationships and rigorous alignment between Science & Research units, Digital & Tech (IT), external suppliers and contractors;
Project Management: Highly competent project manager familiar with software development project management frameworks and able to focus the team on delivering along the critical path while ensuring high quality, maintainable and well-documented solutions;
Software development and deployment: Lead development of well-designed full-stack applications using python, JavaScript and CCS for deployment using multi- and hybrid-cloud technologies.

Reward: Based on your experience we will offer you a base salary of € 87,893 to € 125,562 per year (including holiday allowance and 13th month) and extra benefits, such as 25 holiday days, a bonus, the option to buy more holiday days with a 6% my choice budget and much more.
*You Bring *
PhD or equivalent in mathematics, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, computer science, chemistry, synthetic biology or a related field;
A minimum of 7 years industrial or academic track-record involving data science applications in industrial biotechnology, chemistry, nutrition or personal care industry;
Experience in FAIR data management, advanced data processing pipelines, data integration and visualization using cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure);
Proficiency with scripting and workflow languages (e.g. Python and R) to manipulate large data sets;
Familiar with design of experiments, advanced statistics and modern AI/ML;
Experience in handling synthetic biology data, cheminformatics data or data flows from high-throughput experimentations will be an advantage;
Team player, able to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams;
Highly innovative scientist with a drive to create and translate new ideas into practical advances, and a strong drive for results;
Excellent communication skills, fluent in English;
Flexibility to travel (up to 10% of your time) between our main R&D Centers (Geneva, Switzerland and Delft, the Netherlands), and occasional travel to other global sites.
