Business Support Officer Pet Food

Our Pet Food commercial team helps petfood brands in their needs to keep cats and dogs healthy and happy! dsm-firmenich avails over an extensive ingredients’ portfolio for pets, ranging from vitamin and mineral premixes, science-backed prebiotic supplements, clever carotenoids, or mouthwatering taste ingredients. Our internationally quality-certified range is up to the task!

We are recruiting a Business Support Officer that will support our commercial activities and is enthusiastic to contribute to develop our nutritional and taste busines solutions that put pets first! You'll take ownership of the sales office and contribute to strategic initiatives. You organize and provide critical operational commercial support to ensure smooth customer interactions and business processes.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing Customer Relations: Be the first point of contact interacting with internal functions arranging sales support requests; be the focal point for handling information, documentation, questionnaires, product quality complaints, sampling and our customer portal.

  • Run a smooth sales office: be on top of systems/processes, quotation creation, sales contracts, presentations, folder maintenance, organizing customer visits and marketing events, take meeting minutes, run sales statistics extractions & analysis and manage internal invoices. Coordinate activities with internal departments, including logistics and finance, to ensure for example timely delivery of orders and resolution of billing issues. Track sales activities, update customer records in the CRM system, and generate sales reports for management review.

  • Contribute to Prospecting and Lead Generation: Research and identify potential new customers within assigned territories or industries. Conduct outbound prospecting activities, such as cold calling and email outreach, to introduce products and services to prospects.

  • Qualify leads and schedule appointments or demonstrations for the external sales team. Follow up with leads to build relationships and move them through the sales pipeline.

  • Based on your experience we will offer you a base salary of € 44,752 to € 63,931 per year (including holiday allowance and 13th month) and extra benefits, such as 25 holiday days, a bonus, the option to buy more holiday days with a 6,11% my choice budget and much more.

    You Bring 

  • A bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience in related areas (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service).

  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP – Sales & distribution modules) and CRM systems are required, as well as strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet portals.

  • A self-starting and team playing attitude with the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, minimum supervision in a flexible and open-minded manner, while still paying attention to details.

  • Strong interpersonal & problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in an international and multi-cultural environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to interact with our customers and other dsm-firmenich sites/dept’s/functions at any level.

  • Fluency in English, other languages appreciated.
