Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong expereince in CAD design and drafting, with experience in interpreting blueprints, architectural drawings, and schematics. This role will involve documenting equipment layouts and product designs, generating specifications and manuals, and developing designs for both new and existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and schematics.

  • Document the layout of equipment and design of products using CAD design/drafting tools.

  • Translate engineering designs to detailed drawings for procurement and manufacturing.

  • Generate specifications, manuals, and close-out documentation for specific projects.

  • Develop product designs for new standard products or derivations of existing products.

  • Interact with the engineering team to generate information required for proposal development and/or project submittals.

  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates for new products or derivations of existing products and enter them into the ERP system.

  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and develop documentation to support ECRs.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of CAD experience (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and drawings.

  • Proficiency in mechanical design and drafting.

  • Understanding and application of drafting standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

You will be working in a small team of five people, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. As the only drafter on the team, you will have the opportunity to add significant value to the projects and collaborate closely with the engineering team. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
