Ohio Wesleyan University, a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Coordinator. This is an hourly, part-time position with no benefits.

We are looking for a candidate with strong administrative and organizational skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and proficiency in office software like Microsoft Word, Excel, or Google Suite. The ideal candidate has excellent written and interpersonal communication abilities and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience working in a college or university setting, with event planning, or supervising students is a plus.

Job Summary:
The Administrative Coordinator ensures the smooth operation of The Woltemade Center and its associated academic programs and events. This role involves managing administrative tasks, supporting events, and providing financial and operational support. It also includes supervising student workers and creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty, alumni, and visitors.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining records, responding to inquiries, and updating the Center's website and calendars.
- Plan and manage Center events, including receptions, lectures, and board meetings, coordinating catering, AV, and hospitality needs.
- Manage financial tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling purchases, and tracking expenses.
- Supervise and coordinate a student worker, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Organize travel arrangements for learning trips, including accommodations and itineraries.
Create marketing materials and manage communications for programs and events.
Factors Contributing to Success:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, or Google Suite).
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial data effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience with digital design tools like Canva.
- Experience supervising part-time employees or students.
- Familiarity with E-Procurement systems and event planning.
- Prior experience in higher education administration.
Effective oral communication and organizational skills.
