The Plant Buyer III is responsible for tactical procurement, inventory control, and supplier management for the assigned suppliers.

This position is part of the Materials Team and will report to the Sr. Materials Manager. It will be in our Deland, FL, facility as an on-site position.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Daily creation and maintenance of Purchase orders through its lifecycle

  • Drive the analysis and review of demand data to support purchasing and inventory planning decisions both short and long-term to ensure continuity of supply.

  • Manage vendor relationships to develop and champion characteristics of preferred suppliers.

  • Identify and troubleshoot material inventory issues, shortages, or excess by gathering and using data to solve and implement countermeasures.

  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure materials continuity, drive improvement, and lead other initiatives to maximize our customer experience.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Engineering,

  • 2+ years’ experience in a procurement function

  • Experience working in supply chain or logistics with various external and internal suppliers to ensure delivery or completion of materials priorities and expedited if needed.

  • Ability to read and communicate requirements to internal and external customers.

  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, including demand & supply forecasting, inventory management, and lot restrictions.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Proficiency using Excel and ERP systems (SAP is a plus)

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and of planning “best practices” including, but not limited to, Supplier PULL Systems, Vendor management inventory, Lean Daily Management, and lean improvement events.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing supplier relationships and driving the implementation of optimal purchasing patterns.
