What Product Test & Calibration contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment. Product Test & Calibration sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned area as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment.
Shift Details
- 6:30 am to 2:30 pm - Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
Ensure proper set-up of production machines and ancillary equipment according to procedures and product specifications
Interpret electrical schematics
Troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment that includes industrial controls, motor starters, VFD's, relays, temperature controls, photo eyes, etc.
Use of a Oscilloscopes, Voltage Meters, Current Meters, Logic analyses, etc.
PLC diagnostics using ladder logic languages (RSLogix, Medoc, Keyence, etc.).
Panel building and wiring various machine control circuits.
Soldering, De-soldering, cable building, troubleshooting circuit continuity
AC/DC Motor troubleshooting, repair, and replacement
Completes yearly safety or ergonomic project.
Address Quality issues and identify potential quality risks
Manage multiple quality improvement or NCR reduction projects and help production engineering drive to completion
Participate in multiple root cause analysis (PCS) and drive action items to completion
Address production issues to exceed production standards and scrap objectives
Take initiative on CI activities
Assist with mechanical repairs when needed
Lead maintenance excellence in work area
Serve as trainer to techs and setups
Take initiative to further develop their own skills and skills of others
Demonstrate leadership and serve as a leader in the maintenance group.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience preferred
One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) preferred
Proficient in the use of small hand tools and electrical hand tools
Proficient with necessary measuring equipment (Dial calipers, micrometers, gages, et.)

Has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines
Provides guidance to less experienced team members
Anticipated hourly range: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour based on experience
