Robert Half HR Generalist in Deland, Florida

Description We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team in Deland, Florida. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in providing broad HR support and advice, contributing significantly to the organization's success. The individual will offer guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices, thereby facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist management with hiring processes, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, conducting applicant reference checks, background checks, and drug screenings.

• Process new hire paperwork and maintain both physical and digital personnel files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

• Collaborate with management to maintain employee benefits and strategize to initiate new benefits.

• Assist with safety meetings, tracking all OSHA accidents/incidents, accident reports and investigations, motor vehicle checks and records, and workers compensation claims.

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, establish disciplinary and termination procedures, conduct exit interviews, and initiate post-employment benefit assistance.

• Process employee leave requests including vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA. Enforce company policies as established by management.

• Act as an employee relations specialist, monitoring tardiness and absenteeism reports, and ensuring proper documentation.

• Assist with the formalization of job descriptions, assign job titles to all employees, and establish scales for rates of pay by job title.

• Process income withholding paperwork for child support orders, pay garnishment, health insurance deductions, employee loan deductions, etc.

• Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and audit Forms I-9 periodically.

• Distribute and monitor employee performance evaluations, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.

• Update, monitor, and maintain eligible salary adjustments/increases.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

• Maintain company organization charts and the employee directory.

• Be responsible for maintaining and coordinating employee recognition programs.

• Participate in the budget preparation process and accept additional responsibilities or special projects as requested. Requirements • Must have at least 1 year of experience as an HR Generalist

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is required

• Knowledge and experience in ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is necessary

• Familiarity with Ceridian, HRMS, and About Time software is preferred

• Must possess skills related to Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration

• Understanding of Compliance processes in the HR field is needed

• Proven experience in Employee Relations is important

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
