VAL VERDE - COUNTY OF Office Clerk (Temporary) in Del Rio, Texas

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position is a temporary office clerk. This position will only be for 3 months. The office clerk will provide general office support to the office staff in a variety of services including, compiling, organizing documents and take phone call messages. The temporary clerk will perform a broad range of clerical, document processing and office support. Clerk is under the direction of the Court Coordinator. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Answer telephone inquiries. 2 Attends to walk-in information seekers. 3 Assist with filing and other needs throughout the office. 4 Assignments may be short-term for just the day. 5 Typing documents, letters, correspondence and memorandums. 6 Copies, scans, and files various documents. 7 Proofreading of all work to ensure accuracy. 8 Performs related work as required. (Position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties, which may be performed or supervised.) WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of word processing, computers, fax machines, copy machines, calculators and other office machinery; Ability to perform simple legal research. Fluency in the Spanish language required. Excellent organizational skills. Dependable and Punctual. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting: Able to lift 40 lbs. and bend and lift in order to move files and exhibits.
