Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plastics Process Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance, production, and quality of parts produced, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This includes troubleshooting material loading systems, molding parameters, and automation systems, as well as optimizing the manufacturing process to minimize variation and maximize efficiency.
Shift
2nd shift (2pm-10pm)
3rd shift (10pm-6am)
Responsibilities
Oversee the performance, production, and quality of parts produced, including starting and stopping jobs and troubleshooting material loading systems.
Ensure parts are produced to BOM requirements.
Deploy process technology to minimize process variation and optimize manufacturing.
Improve machine efficiency through automation uptime and optimization.
Prepare and set up material blending and loading.
Perform mold start-ups using plastic fundamentals.
Maintain process guidelines through cycle times, E-Darts, clamp movement, etc.
Install, troubleshoot, and remove EOAT.
Pull and understand FPI/SA paperwork and process variances.
Complete all safety and company compliance training on time and according to schedule.
Provide production support, vacation coverage, and overtime changeover support as needed.
Essential Skills
Previous pipe, tube, or sheet extrusion processing experience.
Understanding of material conveying systems, extruder functions, and plastic conveying through the extruder.
History of creating, recording, and utilizing in-process or setup documentation.
Experience training others.
Previous extruder/extrusion tooling experience.
Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.
Active involvement in Continuous Improvement and promotion of CI and 5S activities.
