The City of Defiance is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Plant Operator. The candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of the City Wastewater treatment system. Duties will include collecting samples, observing meters, recording readings, adjusting/inspecting equipment, and grounds maintenance. Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid State of Ohio driver's license and have or be able to obtain within 2 years, a Class I Wastewater Operator's Certificate. This is a full-time first shift position with a starting wage of $21.70 per hour with a full benefits package including health, vision & dental insurance, life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, and enrollment in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
