Defiance County Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator in Defiance, Ohio
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Defiance County Landfill.
- The primary objective of this position, under the general direction of the Landfill Director, Assistant Director, and Foreman, is to operate heavy motorized equipment to remove, level, distribute, compact earth and solid waste to optimize landfill air space, construct roads, waste cells and drainage ways. The Operator will also perform a variety of other duties as required to maintain facilities, grounds and equipment.
- Applicants must have an acceptable driving record and insurability. Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent certification or ability plus significant related work experience is required.
- This is a full-time, classified position. Starting wage is $24.59 -- $25.63, depending on qualifications and experience. Annual earning potential - $54,000 -- $62,000/year.
