Organization & Role

The Power Semiconductor Team at Teradyne designs Automated Test Equipment solutions designed to optimally test Wide Bandgap (WBG) semiconductor devices. Teradyne is looking for an experienced Software Architect that can work within this team to design both custom and standard software solutions, that support native and 3rd party instrumentation, to provide the user an intuitive and uniform way of testing their devices across insertions.

Doing this requires you to be comfortable working directly with customers and our customer facing teams. You will be expected to investigate requirements, synthesize needs, and propose solutions. Each problem can be different requiring knowledge in various technologies. It will be necessary to quickly develop your skills on these technologies and leverage your experience for understanding and optimizing the solution. As you mature the architecture or solution design, you will interact and support project teams that will be responsible for implementation, deployment, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of Teradyne’s base software platform with the intent to optimize interactions between the instrumentation and ease of use by the customer

  • Architect reusable code libraries leverageable by customers and internal teams.

  • Work with customers and field teams to define workflows, identify technical risk, develop requirements, and architect software solutions.

  • Support project teams with providing architectural design, technical lead support, sizing information, and required skills of the implementation team.

  • Identify common patterns or trends in the market to architect more generic solutions or provide solutions that close existing product gaps.

  • Architect interfaces between our software platform and 3rd party instrumentation that optimizes speed and presents a common feel for the end user

  • Evaluate different architectures and solutions with an unbiased view to reach consensus on the best approach.

  • Produce and deliver technical presentations to improve customer and internal knowledge about architected solutions.

  • Provide skill development recommendations to grow customer and internal talent.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • 15+ years in traditional software development and architecture with a focus in C++ and C#

  • Knowledge of instrument communication protocols and optimization

  • 5+ years of experience in Test and Measurement, or work in the Semiconductor Test industry

  • Power Semiconductor knowledge a plus

  • Able to travel for customer engagements and presentations

  • Flexible working hours to work with teams worldwide

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, presentation, and documentation

  • Ability to work within a team and independently

  • Have strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills

Education

  • BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
