Job Summary and Qualifications
The CIA is the key facility resource that is responsible for delivering the successful implementation of clinical quality informatics initiatives. They are responsible for coordinating the completion of project assessments, parameter settings, and assisting with the development of education/training materials. This individual participates in the company-wide community for CPOE, EBCD, and works with their division peers to ensure clinical quality informatics applications are well supported throughout the facility. The CIA is responsible for ensuring ongoing training, support and refinement of clinical quality informatics, Meaningful Use initiatives, publically reported metrics, as well as additional support for clinical quality applications throughout the facility. Additional responsibilities will include any upgrades and applications as they are implemented.
What you will do in this role:
Support of facility-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to the EHR and other clinical informatics initiatives.
Compile, analyze, and report clinical quality informatics data to drive quality and performance improvement.
Audits and prepares reports of the electronic health record using tools for data collection and reporting of CPOE, PDOC, and other EHR projects.
Development, execution, and support of education plan, tools and resources focused on the EHR and other clinical quality informatics initiatives.
Support technology implementations that support clinician workflow.
Assesses impact on clinical workflow and facilitate workflow redesign to gain maximum benefit of new technology
Optimization of quality informatic tools to drive regulatory compliance, standardization, and quality patient outcomes.
Collaborate with the Director Clinical Informatics, Service Line Directors, and front line staff on clinical quality initiatives to advance the Clinical Excellence scorecard.
Collaborates with the clinical and technical IT Team in the support of new EHR components to ensure most efficient clinical workflow.
Ongoing monitoring of various EHR utilization trends. Identify gaps/areas of opportunity and provides analysis to address areas of concern.
Collaborates with IT&S to ensure standardization and compliance with best practice models, specifically as it relates to the integrity of the electronic health record.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with the entire project team, clinical leaders, business leaders, IT&S leaders, and staff.
What qualifications you will need:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting
Minimum 2 years of experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical applications support, or equivalent preferred
Meditech experience strongly preferred
Experience facilitating large projects which includes implementation of health technology is preferred
Registered nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
