Position Summary:
The inside sales position is a developmental role within the Co-Products group that will fill a vital need in new account generation. Our team member will be solely focused on inbound/outbound communication with customers, mostly in the livestock, pet food, and aquaculture sectors, to promote our full portfolio of products. The goal is to develop a sales pipeline by generating and qualifying leads, initiating contact, and closing sales. A successful candidate will be resourceful and resilient, using the breadth of tools currently available and discovering new methods of customer outreach. This role will also be given an existing customer list to manage and foster relationships with.
Inside Sales Representative:
ADM Carbohydrate Solutions Co-Products, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, is seeking a competitive candidate who is willing to hit the ground running, making multiple customer contacts per day via phone and email. The inside sales rep will maintain ownership of leads that they convert to accounts. There is a long runway for increased responsibility within the Co-Products group should the candidate prove willing and able. Daily responsibilities include:
Manage a portfolio of accounts, from initial inquiry to delivery, as well as ongoing service after the sale.
First point of contact for phone and web inquiries, including basic product support and referral to appropriate channels. Responsible for vetting all new potential business for Co-Products.
Actively prospect and call new potential customers.
Responsible for closing deals and achieving customer satisfaction based on goals and objectives established by designated manager.
Sell within a core portfolio of products while also promoting ADM’s full range of products and service capabilities.
Leverage internal relationships, networks, and other ADM divisions to cross sell accounts and showcase ADM’s value.
Daily interaction with Salesforce by logging all pertinent activity and customer notes, managing and updating pipeline.
Identify, assemble and report trending areas of interest to product management.
Assist in the generation of new SOP’s for functions needing streamlined.
Develop a clear understanding of the product offerings and how ADM can best service the markets identified.
Share relevant market information with other members of the sales team.
The appointed candidate will be expected to work closely and in a professional manner with the Sales Team, Commercial Management, Technical Services, Credit and Customer Services to meet customer needs and business goals.
Job Requirements:
3-5 years of customer service experience and/or 1-2 years in relevant sales, marketing, or business development.
Bachelor degree in business or science-related field.
Ability to build long-term, sustainable business to business relationships within both internal and external organizations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential in order to develop relationship with customers.
Outgoing personality with a demonstrated eagerness to assist customers via phone, web and trade shows.
Ability to operate as a team player and work well with others. To share ideas and collaborate to ensure success of the team.
This position requires superior organizational, planning and follow-up skills. As well as the need to be a self-starter when it comes to prospecting and growing of new and existing customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required. SalesForce and Power BI experience is preferred.
