This is a full time, exempt position

Summary: The HR Generalist will partner with and report to Senior Human Resources Manager to provide HR support for various levels of management and colleagues within Operations. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting key initiatives through recruiting and retention efforts, coordination of employee engagement and employee relations efforts, employee development and training initiatives, and build and leverage partnerships within ADM and in the community. The ideal candidate will foster innovative ideas and a desire to explore new possibilities.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of assigned initiatives.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.

  • Strong presentation building skills and the ability to create support materials.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying challenges; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees.

  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with union and non-union leadership and team members to build trust, gain support, advise and influence others in regard to effective HR processes.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to our Core Values throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Successfully relate and work with a diverse workforce in a variety of positions including senior leaders, location leaders and hourly manufacturing colleagues.

  • Actively champion and promote all safety related policies and programs to ensure colleague engagement and commitment to safe work practices at all times.

  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Partner to cultivate a workforce planning strategy and knowledge transfer process to strengthen internal capabilities and support current and future succession planning.

  • Increase understanding and compliance, consistent application of policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, one-on-one communication and policy interpretation.

  • Provide feedback, coaching and support for Performance Excellence and other development programs.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, related field, or two (2) or more years of experience as HR Generalist, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining confidentiality, practicing good judgment, and facilitating conflict resolution while maintaining positive work relationships with employees, management personnel and stakeholders.

  • Ability to interact positively and constructively in a fast-paced challenging environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws is strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently, take initiative, drive results.
