Our Trinity Terminal located at 4301 Iverson Blvd, Trinity, Alabama 35673, located near Decatur, Madison and Huntsville is one of Kinder Morgan’s network of 144 terminals where we store and handle products for our customers. This is a great opportunity if you are an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator, Team Lead, Production Lead or similar.
Directs the work of 6 to 10 employees in the offloading of bulk material from barges, into dump trucks, and movement into the customer's plant.
Trains employees in the safe and efficient operation of excavators, loaders, forklifts, bobcats, and other equipment as necessary.
Trains employees to perform deckhand duties on a tug boat. Performs and trains employees to perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Troubleshoots maintenance issues and takes action as necessary.
Looks for more efficient and safer ways to perform operations.
Takes action to resolve minor issues and disputes.
Records and reports ongoing, or major, problems to the terminal manager for resolution.
Available to work different shifts, weekends & holidays, as necessary.
Must be able to perform effectively in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to make solid, cost-effective, decisions and recommendations.
Must have a can-do attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to safely and effectively accomplish tasks.
Performs other duties as needed.

Position Requirements
Educational Requirements (minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful)
High school diploma or GED
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic math skills.
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
The ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
Ability to gather information for statistical process control and other reports, as necessary.
Must be able to develop and implement work schedules to fulfill customer requirements.
Ability to take initiative and work with co-workers to accomplish defined goals in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules and take on other duties as assigned.
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and can-do attitude, and high level of performance.
Positively interact with customers and respond to customer inquiries.
The successful candidate will be required to pass the a background check, and post offer and random drug screening.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs. as high as waist level.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and raise your body weight as high as 4 feet.
Must not have a fear of water or heights.
The ability to swim is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Available to work different shifts, weekends & holidays, as necessary.
Consistently works more than 40 hours per week.
Performs other duties as assigned by the terminal manager.
Learn to operate all equipment and deckhand operations within 6 months of assignment.
Be able to withstand extreme weather conditions majority of the time will be working outside
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
Some college is preferred.
Experience operating heavy equipment.
Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
Experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
