Henry Ford Health System Orthopedic Technician - Full Time (40Hrs)/Days - Orthopedic Medicine - Dearborn (Fairlane) in Dearborn, Michigan

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will assist orthopedic surgeons and medical staff in the care and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal injuries. Key responsibilities include applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, providing patient education, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance. GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the physician, applies, repairs, and removes casts. Assume responsibilities of the orthopedic cast room which includes assisting physicians and staff with application and removal of casts. Traction device set up and adjustment performed per instructions of orthopedic physician.

Shift Details: Full Time - 40 Hours - Day Shift - No Weekends

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

  • At least six months previous clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Orthopedic Technician.

  • Casting and splinting experience preferred.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current Heart Saver Certification.
