Job Title: Manager, National Strategy

Job Status: Full-time

Job Summary: Under general supervision the National Strategy Manager will spearhead efforts to engage the Arab American community by designing and executing the MOVE event (to find out more about our MOVE event,

MOVE 2023: An Arab American Summit to Advance Social Change (accessmovesummit.org) and engagement strategy. The national Strategy Manager will also work to align the strategies of the national institutions (to learn more about our national institutions please see Arab American National Museum , Center for Arab American Philanthropy, National Network for Arab American Communities) with the overarching goals of the organization. Will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that align with the company-s vision and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the Arab American Speakers Bureau, ensuring alignment between the Speakers Bureau objectives and those of the four national institutions

  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership and the four national institutions to ensure alignment in key strategic areas

  • Analyze the Arab American nonprofit and activist landscape to inform strategic decisions and program development

  • Connect national institutions to create collective strategy towards ACCESS mission and vision

  • Work with the four national institutions to identify and address issues critical to the Arab American community, ensuring MOVE remains relevant

  • Oversee the MOVE/ACCESS event planner to ensure effective planning and execution of events

  • Foster ongoing engagement with the Arab American community between the MOVE conferences to advance MOVE goals

  • Develop and support new initiatives emerging from MOVE panels and programs that advance ACCESS -national priorities

  • Strategize and oversee the MOVE Conference, developing the conference strategy and managing its implementation, including the creation of the conference tracks and sessions

  • Create and implement a comprehensive plan to evaluate the effectiveness of MOVE and its alignment with the organization goals

  • Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

  • Advance concepts, practices, and procedures in nonprofit management

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Initiative Development

  • Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships

  • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage pressure and make good decisions quickly

  • Experience in marketing or public relations

  • Arab American nonprofit and activist landscape

    Skill in:

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Ability to:

  • Proven success in event planning or coordination

  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives

  • Facilitate and present at meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas, and problems are addressed

  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Plan and execute items necessary in regard to organizing MOVE

  • Work on-site at event as needed, nights, weekends, and travel required

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required:

  • Bachelor-s degree

  • Master-s degree preferred

  • Required Disciplines:

  • Business Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Meeting and Convention Planning or a related field

    and

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in event planning or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources

    Working Conditions:

    Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required

    Travel Required: None generally required; Local, in-state, national, and international travel, may be up to 10 %
