Job Title: MRO Buyer
Job Description
The MRO Buyer will be responsible for all indirect purchasing for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supporting multiple distribution locations. This role involves managing the procurement of services related to forklift maintenance, dock doors, dock plates, service engines re-manufacturing, repair, battery maintenance, and program management. The position requires a proactive approach in working with both new and existing suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Handle all indirect purchasing for MRO across multiple distribution locations.
Manage facilities maintenance and heavy project-based work.
Negotiate services and prices with suppliers.
Conduct market testing to find the best value and act in a start-up capacity.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments on purchasing processes and new projects.
Monitor and address supply problems that may impact business operations.
Analyze costs for new and existing projects and implement cost reduction activities.
Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and terms of business with suppliers.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and communication.
Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
Compile and analyze supplier performance data.
Resolve supplier shortages and past-due situations.
Maintain and update commodity strategies.
Work with cost estimating for savings negotiations.
Produce weekly reports, charts, and status updates on open assignments and projects.
Perform market tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of parts.
Review open vehicles off-road (VOR) and backorders weekly and expedite parts delivery.
Essential Skills
4+ years of recent MRO purchasing experience.
4+ years of experience in facilities, warehouse, service, and program management.
OEM or Tier 1/2 supplier purchasing.
Experience with SAP.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel (80% proficiency or higher).
Strong communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (highly preferred, but not mandatory if experience requirements are met).
Warehouse leasing experience.
Storage space leasing experience.
Strong negotiation skills.
Experience with Ariba.
Work Environment
Work onsite in Dearborn 3 days per week, with flexibility depending on business needs and meetings.
40 hours per week, typically 8-5 with flexibility within core hours.
Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $47.00/hr.
