Cognizant Technology Solutions Functional Safety Specialist in Dearborn, Michigan

Position Overview The Functional Safety Specialist will be responsible leading functional safety activity according to ISO 26262 process guidelines.

Essential Job Functions *Act as the primary Functional Safety interface. *Development of technical work products specific to functional safety, e.g. hazard and risk assessment (HARA), item definition, functional safety concept, technical safety concept, FTAs, DFMEAs, criticality analyses, other safety analyses, and test coverage analysis for safety requirements. *Support system functional and diagnostic changes to improve system safety. *Support software changes and verification process for production. *Support creation of component level diagnostic DVP tied to the saferty requirements. *Develop functional safety work products including: oHARA (Hazard Analysis) oFunctional Safety Requirements oTechnical Safety Requirements.

Requirements *Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering *5 years of experience in Automotive Systems engineering role (10 preferred) *Experience with Electronic Control Units *3 years of experience specific to functional safety for Automotive or Aerospace (ISO26262 / IEC61508)
