Corewell Health Cook in Dearborn, Michigan
Shift and status
Part time , 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and every other weekend.
Job Summary
Under general direction, using standardized recipes, following mandated food handling techniques and safety requirements, prepares appetizing meals and other related food services for patients, hospital employees, guests, cafeteria patrons and other authorized visitors.
Essential Duties
Read recipes.
Cook in bulk quantities and cook to order.
Follow production sheets.
Maintain sanitation.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Range of Pay
- Pay starting at $16.98
Qualifications
Required
Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent work experience
1 year of relevant cooking experience
Ability to read, write, and perform simple math; also understand oral instructions and be able to communicate job related problems.
Operation of Food production equipment
Knowledge of HACCP Procedures
Preferred
- Hospitality experience
