The Chief of Staff roles within Ford's Connected Vehicle Software (CVS) group are crucial positions designed to drive alignment, promote communication, and support strategic and operational initiatives within the organization. This role will work closely with one or more CVS functional leaders (e.g., Infotainment, DevOps, System Architecture & Integration) to ensure the effective execution of objectives while fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. Chiefs of Staff within the CVS group maintain close cross-functional communication to ensure consistent processes and excellence in organizational delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience deploying a blend of strategic, operational, and leadership skills – especially in dynamic and highly technical environments. They are adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and possess exceptional critical thinking skills. They enjoy solving complex problems, are adept at communicating with colleagues at all levels, and operate with a strong bias for action.
What you'll do…
Strategic Partnership
Act as a strategic partner to functional leadership, providing insight and support in decision-making, problem-solving, and planning
Own development and implementation of strategic initiatives through cross-functional partnership
Drive alignment and collaboration within and across CVS functions, ensuring cohesive execution of organizational priorities
Organizational Effectiveness
Identify and help resolve opportunities for process improvement and innovation, driving implementation of best practices across CVS
Lead change management initiatives, helping teams adapt to new processes, technologies or organizational structures
Coordinate with team support resources (e.g., business operations, administrative) as well as other Chiefs of Staff to ensure consistent and comprehensive support for leadership and teams
Enhance effectiveness of key meetings by establishing clear agendas, driving high-quality content and output, communicating outcomes, and tracking follow-up assignments to completion
Performance Management
Support the development, implementation, and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team and project success
Ensure projects and deliverables are delivered robustly and on time
Provide regular updates to leadership on progress
Communications
Ensure effective communication flow between leadership, teams, and key stakeholders, promoting transparency and alignment
Own, champion, and continuously improve functional communication channels and cadence
Amplify the voice, vision, and influence of leadership
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of experience in strategic roles within tech, automotive, or related industries, with a track record of increasing responsibility
2+ years of experience driving clear and consistent communications across business, product, and technical teams
2+ years of project or program management experience

Advanced Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate complex concepts into actionable plans
Strong leadership acumen , with experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and influencing at all levels of an organization
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build high-trust relationships and navigate complex organizational dynamics
Bias for action ; a propensity to drive items to closure without sacrificing quality or timeliness
Adaptability and resilience in the face of rapid change and ambiguity

This position is a salary grade 8.
