Responsibilities*
Support the classroom teacher in creating a high quality learning environment that supports the development and education of the children using the Reggio-inspired approach to learning.
Provoke children's ideas and scaffold their understanding though problem solving, representational work, and conflict resolution.
Implement Positive Child guidance and intervention supports.
Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs.
Effectively support the management of the classroom by maintaining consistency and developmentally appropriate expectations.
Lead activities under the direction of the lead teacher.
Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times.
Meet program objectives concerning education standards, quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Required Qualifications*
Have a high school degree or equivalent education.
Have at least 1 year of experience working with children and/or a certificate in early childhood education or currently working towards the completion of one.
Desired Qualifications*
CDA or Associates degree in Child Development or another related field.
Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
Exceptional communication skills (speaking and writing), and computer literacy skills.
Experience with documentation skills.
