ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures safety is the #1 priority for the team and helps the team identify hazards and reports \'Near Misses\' to create a safe work environment. Ensures materials and labor assigned to jobs are accurate. Use forklift or other powered industrial equipment to move product around in work area. Communicate and work well with other departments and team members regarding accurate and timely completion of projects. Demonstrate initiative and willingness to undertake increased responsibility. Exhibit ability to prioritize and plan work activities, manage time efficiently and meet objectives to complete projects. Demonstrate teamwork by working well with others, helping, positively providing and receiving feedback. Assists management with hiring process and new team member training. Conducts supplemental \'Toolbox Talks\' to update members on best practices and continuing expectations. Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks. Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for safety, quality, and efficiency. Other job duties as assigned per the needs of production. Encourages company initiatives like safety, 6S manufacturing practices. Ensures physical workspaces are \'tour ready\' and proper housekeeping is a consistent team standard. Supports supervisor/manager and performs management duties when they are absent. Communicates deadlines to team members and supports scheduling changes.
