An opportunity is available for a self-motivated, hard-working individual with strong resource management, visitor services, protection, and maintenance experience to fill a Resident Assistant Park Manager position at DeLeon Springs State Park located in DeLeon Springs, Florida.

De Leon Springs State Park is a magical place nestled in the town of De Leon Springs, Florida. Not only is the park known for its refreshing 72-degree spring, but it is also home to the iconic Old Sugar Mill Pancake House (https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/de-leon-springs-state-park/old-sugar-mill-pancake-house) , where visitors come from all over to enjoy making their own pancakes.
The allure does not stop there. De Leon Springs is also rich in history. Our visitor center takes you on a historical adventure beginning with the Mayaca tribe that made their home here 8,000 years ago. Other features are stories about the plantation era in the early 1800s and more recent material describing the attractions era in the 1950s before the Florida Park Service took over operations in 1982.

Pay:

Your Specific Responsibilities:
ADMINISTRATION –Provides for employee training, supervision, and discipline. Administers the terms of the collective bargaining agreement and maintains good employee relations. Supervises the staff in fiscal, purchasing, personnel, and other administrative processes. Prepares, implements, and controls the work schedule and assignments for the staff.

VISITOR SERVICES – Participates in the planning and supervision of the park’s interpretive programs. Interacts with the visitors, interprets the park’s resources, facilities, and services; resolves visitor complaints; and provides good public relations.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – Participates in the planning and supervision of the park’s resource management program, including prescribed burning, native species restoration, erosion control, and exotic plant and animal removal.
MAINTENANCE – Plans, implements, and evaluates the park’s maintenance program. Identifies maintenance needs, maintains maintenance schedules, and supervises and assists staff to maintain the facilities and support equipment for efficient park operation.
PROTECTION – Ensures park rules are enforced pertaining to facilities and all natural and cultural resources, for the enjoyment of the visitor.
Performs work related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: management principles and practices.
Skill and ability to: operate vehicles and equipment.
Ability to: supervise people; determine work priorities; assign work and ensure proper completion; prepare and maintain schedules and reports; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License
Successful completion of background/fingerprinting check
Reside on park property (3bd/2bth Mobile Home)
