Position Overview:

The Senior Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the finance department, contributing to the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses. They are responsible for various accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role demands a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the finance department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily evaluations of applied SOX controls.

  • Responsible for account reconciliations.

  • Internal and external audit contact.

  • Assist with intercompany accounting.

  • Assist with ASC606 revenue recognition.

  • Creates variance analysis reports for related to revenue.

  • Work with the shared services team in the preparation of internal and external reporting.

  • Assisting Controller with forecast.

  • Assists with creation of detailed financial reports, graphs, and other products to track performance and to aid management in making effective business decisions.

  • Coordinates and implements system and process changes for continuous improvement.

  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with supervisors and coworkers to resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Perform additional assignments and/or duties per supervisor’s direction.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related field of study.

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • 7 years or more of General Ledger accounting experience.

  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP.

  • Computer proficient (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Power BI).

  • Proficiency with the IFS ERP system is a plus.
