Job Title: Supervisor - Parents as Teachers
Unit: HMGBF Expansion
Shift: Mon-Fri, 8a-4:30p

Position Summary:
The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, timely, efficient, compliant, and productive workflows in the operational and service areas in their areas of oversight. This position provides supervision home visitors as part of this role and with assume the overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the program and model fidelity. This position will ensure adherence to guidelines and deliverables established by funding agencies and the program’s compliance with policies and procedures. The Supervisor will maintain open communication with the Parents as Teachers Manager on issues, opportunities, and situations involving their program. The Supervisor is responsible for addressing personnel issues, providing feedback and reflection on team development and agency issues, reviews documentation, and demonstrate the agency’s Guiding Principles including respect, collaboration, community, equity and inclusivity, sustainability, staff recognition, and accountability. Supervisors are required to efficiently perform all duties while ensuring client confidentiality and privacy rights.
Project management, oversight and involvement will range from independent work on small projects, to supporting your direct reports through large scale changes. Projects may involve departments external to Help Me Grow Brighter Futures. This position will work with other teams/programs to ensure that the activities and contributions align with priorities and timelines for the organization.
Essential Duties & Functions:
A. Operational Supervision and Optimization
§ Oversee day to day operations within their scope of responsibilities.
§ Supervise and lead the provision of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective services.
§ Hold staff accountable to the standards of Help Me Grow Brighter Futures and Premier Health.
§ Serve as the liaison to coordinate compliance and regulatory issues for areas of responsibility.
§ Support agency and model expectations through operational planning.
§ Develop and/or maintain policies and procedures.
§ Identify opportunities to redesign systems of oversight to maximize performance (i.e.: labor
and operational efficiency).
B. Human Resource Management
§ Evaluate performance of assigned personnel.
§ Identify and deal with personnel issues in a proactive and timely manner, with appropriate follow-up to improve performance.
§ Manage labor expenses.
§ Manage employee leaves of absence and family medical leaves.
§ Ensure staff competency via training, competency assessments, and other means.
§ Work with staff on an ongoing basis to attain their professional development goals by directing, coaching and supporting.
§ Lead and develop staff to be eligible for and attain available professional certifications and recognition of knowledge, skills and abilities.
§ Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of staff.
§ Coordinate and lead team meetings/huddles.
§ Lead initiatives to identify gaps in training knowledge and areas for performance improvement.
C. Project Planning and Leadership
§ Participate in strategic plan development and execution of assigned goals.
§ Identify opportunities for improvement based upon anticipated future needs, operational advancement, and organizational priorities.
D. Organizational Involvement
§ Serve as a program liaison to HMGBF Leadership for area of responsibility.
§ Participate in multidisciplinary teams and committees.
Education:
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Additional requirements:
Preferred educational qualifications: bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social science, or related business field.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
Experience:
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Supervisor
Preferred experience: leadership or equivalent work experience
Knowledge/Skills:
§ Ability to plan, organize, direct and control the program activities.
§ Ability to work in a complex team environment and to collaborate with both external and internal professionals and other customers.
§ Appreciation of specific needs of people who are pregnant and families with young children.
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
§ Computer skills – word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint®.
§ Able to demonstrate skills in prioritization, problem solving, vision setting, team building, decision making, time management, mentorship, change management, scholarship, teaching and strategic planning.
§ Positive, self-starter with a willingness to try new ideas.
§ Good judgment and ability to act decisively at the right time.
