Apex Tool Group, LLC Sr. Buyer/ Planner in Dayton, Ohio

The Blueprint (Role Profile) Apex Tool Group is currently looking for a Sr. Planner/Buyer to support our facility in Dayton, OH. The Dayton plant has a diverse product line producing both Aerospace and non-aerospace products. The Sr. Planner/Buyer will ensure the optimum balance of price, quality, and delivery from those vendors from which we procure goods or services. He or she will also establish proper inventory levels necessary to meet turns and on-time delivery goals. This position will report to the Materials Manager. He or she will work closely with our Operations team to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of goods. Come build your future with us! The Build (Responsibilities) Develop and execute inventory strategies for purchased and manufactured goods. Work closely with all departments in the plant for purchasing needs, vendor changes, certification records required, and quality issues. Purchase raw materials, components, and other MRO needs for the facility. Conduct sourcing activities, finding the best products or materials to meet the organization's needs. Use forecasts to help plant leadership develop staffing and budget plans. Work with S&OP and plant leadership to run Rough Cut Capacity Planning models to verify forecasts can be supported by the plant. Track and analyze purchasing history for MOR items and set up re-occurring orders. Monitor on-time delivery and communicate open order status with suppliers. Act as the primary point of contact with designated suppliers to resolve issues.Work with suppliers for proper shipping methods when necessary. Maintain and update PIR (Purchase Info Records) and source lists for information such as pricing and lead times. Initiate and set up new vendor set up on SAP. Partner with finance to clear any invoices discrepancies. Coordinate with receiving and planning to ensure proper receiving methods, record keeping,andproperly prioritize supplier shipments. Participate in cycle times to ensure inventory accuracy. Review and release production orders to machining and assembly. Create master schedule for and assure assigned areas have resources needed to execute schedule. Review load capacity in assigned area and work with supervisors and operators on priority and sequencing of orders. Plan and manage resources for diameter and tooling planning. Communicate lead time issues with customer service, monitoring past due and prioritizing accordingly. The Toolbox (Qualifications) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field and four years of relevant work experience (Supply Chain, Procurement, Management) in a production environment; or an Associate's degree in a related field with >4 years of relevant work experience. Track record of improving performance within the Materials/Supply chain organization leading to improved "On-Time Delivery". Ability to manage multiple priorities for various departments and processes Ability to effectively communicate at all levels with the organization Proficient knowledge of ERP systems as it relates to purchasing and planning is required; SAP is strongly preferred. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or related certification is preferred Apex Tool Group is an equal opportunity employer.
