Applied Research Solutions Software Engineer in Dayton, Ohio

Description

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer/Developer to work on-site at the Air Force Research Laboratory on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Responsibilities include :

  • Develop software for autonomy and mission system architectures;

  • Develop software for use by the DoD in operational systems;

  • Develop formal unit, integration and end-to-end testing to ensure code will operate 100% as expected;

  • Support cutting edge UAVs, sensors and flight test activities;

  • Write and present technical reports on development activities;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • BS or MS, with a degree in CS, CSE and 7+ years’ of related experience;

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance;

  • Strong programming/coding skills in C++, Java, Python, MATLAB, LINUX;

  • Experience in large scale software development, embedded hardware, Comm links, Comm modeling, data structures;

  • Experience in implementing complex algorithms;

  • Experience in autonomy, route planning, flight control, OMS/UCI, AFSIM, PNT, Kalman Filters is a plus;

  • Advanced math skills;

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; and

  • Ability to work unsupervised.

  • Experience with Qt, Git, Confluence, and Jira
