Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies Corp (HII MTC) is seeking a Senior Manager for its Acquisition Engineering Portfolio. Requires strong leadership qualities, program management skills, and business development acumen.

Possesses the ability to 1) lead of team of Electronic Warfare/Electromagnetic Spectrum (EW/EMS) specialists on contracts with the DoD/USAF; 2) execute day-to-day management of the contract vehicle, including revenue tracking/planning, submitting deliverables, and maintaining strong customer relationships; and 3) acquire follow-on business associated with areas of responsibility and support new business development by leading major proposals personally or through subordinate program/project managers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to direct reports, including performance goal setting and evaluating

  • Act as primary customer contact for program activities. Regularly meet with and update the customer on project status. Lead program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to program plan and schedule, identify program problems, and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Prioritize workload and determines staffing levels and any adjustments in staffing. Maintains a staffing level to ensure technical quality and appropriate experience levels are consistent with current and projected project activities.

  • stablish a revenue plan to ensure the team meets or exceeds the Annual Operating Plan -- update status via monthly/quarterly forecasts.

Minimum Qualifications

8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Desire 10 + years EW/EMS operations/program experience

  • Desire 8 years Program Management experience

  • Desire 5 years business development experience

  • Strong communication skills
