Position Overview The Optometric Technician performs a variety of tasks to assist the Optometrist in eye examinations and corrective procedures. The Optometric Technician records patient medical histories and helps with preparing the patient for the vision examination.
General Responsibilities
- Assist the optometrist on duty by conducting and recording pretest data
- Interact directly with the patients
- Support patient flow and perform ancillary testing
- Responsible for daily maintenance of the exam/pretest rooms and maintaining monthly supply list
- Performs related duties as required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of experience in an optometry environment preferred
- Paraoptometric certification through the American Optometric Association preferred
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills with patients of all ages
- Windows-based computer experience required
